The School of Mathematics is seeking to appoint one post-doctoral Research Associate to work with Dr. Nicolas Dirr, Principal Investigator for a new EPSRC research project, "Effective properties of interface evolution in a random environment".

The project requires the combination of techniques from:

- Partial differential equations (parabolic differential equations and homogenization)

- Probability (e.g. percolation)

- Mathematical statistical physics.

Applications are invited from individuals who have a strong background in mathematics with emphasis in at least one of the areas mentioned. Willingness to combine techniques from all of these areas is essential. Funds for attending conferences and travel are available. Candidates should hold a PhD in Mathematics (or have submitted their PhD Thesis before the starting date of the position). Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed during the week commencing 9th November 2015.
