I would like to draw your attention to a 2-year (1+1) postdoc position
(assegno di ricerca) in mathematical physics within the project
"Condensed Matter in Mathematical Physics", funded by a FIR grant of
the italian ministry of university (MIUR).
Interested candidates should have a strong background in the
mathematics of quantum mechanics. The successful applicant will be
expected to work on problems related to phase transitions in spin
models, many-body quantum systems, analysis of effective theories in
condensed matter physics (Gross-Pitaevskii theory, Ginzburg-Landau
theory etc.) and their rigorous derivation.
The research project will be carried on within the team of the FIR
grant and specifically the principal investigator Michele Correggi and
the other local team member Alessandro Giuliani.

The appointment is for 1 year, starting possibly in February 2015,
with a renewal for one more year. The deadline for application is
September 15, 2014.
The position is based at the Department of Mathematics and Physics of
the University of Roma Tre. The salary is approximately 1.500 euro per
month (no taxes to deduce) and there are no teaching duties. The funds
of the FIR grant are available to cover travel and research expenses.
