We are pleased to inform you about the Summer School and Workshop on "<strong>Challenges in Applied Control and Optimal Design</strong>" we are organizing in BCAM - Basque Center of Applied Mathematics, July 4th 2011 to July 8th 2011, in the context of ESF (European Science Foundation) project OPTPDE - Optimization with PDE constraints.<br />

The activity will consist on five mini-courses on different aspects of Optimal Design, Control, Optimization, Numerics, and Industrial Applications, in particular to Aeronautics, together with some other seminars and Computing Laboratory works. <br />
<br />
This activity will be particularly useful for young researchers, both PhD students and postdocs but also an opportunity for senior researchers to meet and develop joint research. This School will also serve to attract people to this challenging area and to better orient future research efforts.<br />
